Description
Fear of reinjury, fear of suffering, and kinesiophobia are a key component in the rehab process. The key component to a successful rehab program is calm down symptoms, provide education on recovery, build confidence, and improve resiliency.
This course is designed to instruct physical therapists in application of loading techniques to decrease pain and improve function. This course will go beyond so-called stabilization exercises, and teaches movements such as the deadlift, squat, presses, and various forms of transferring weight to and from the ground. Exercises that have an external locus of focus that are both functional and transformative during a recovery. If properly taught and coached, these movements add an emotional dimension that has the potential to not just change the way a patient moves, but to change the way a patient sees their ability to move.
This course will cover the thoughtful integration of mechanical, cognitive, and emotional loads in the recovery process. This integration can keep a patient on-track for a nominal recovery or pull the patient out of a functional nose-dive.
