CERTIFIED ORTHOPEDIC MANUAL THERAPY (COMT) PROGRAM
Overview
After talking with hundreds of students and new graduates, two of the biggest deterrents to joining a residency program are time & money. Graduates of residency programs are top-tier clinicians. OPTIM designed this program to fit the needs of students who may not have the time or resources to enter a residency program.
OPTIM's COMT program is designed for the individual seeking to become an expert clinician on a more flexible schedule. In our program, we provide a residency-type learning environment. Students will be exposed to quizzes, assignments, readings, lectures, and weekend labs. You will receive a residency level education and 75+ weekend lab hours. At the end of the program, you will be qualified to sit for the COMT examination as well as test into a fellowship program if you choose.
This 12 month part-time program is designed for individuals seeking to become clinical experts. We will foster your growth through lecture, hands-on lab, on-line mentoring, quizzes, and assigned readings. You will also receive over 30 hours of continuing education through our in-house and online CCU subscription. The goal of the program is to give you a flexible residency level education with over 100 hours of lecture, lab, and mentorship. Our participants include new graduates seeking a COMT or FAAOMPT, neuro therapists looking to incorporate more manual therapy, and seasoned clinicians looking to brush up their orthopedic and manual therapy skills.
OPTIM host's the COMT courses across the country- Dallas TX., Houston TX., San Antonio TX., Scottsdale AZ, and St. Louis, MO.
The COMT is one of three routes to enter directly into the fellowship. If you have your OCS/SCS or have completed an accredited residency you can skip the COMT and enter the fellowship directly.
