Advanced Orthopedic and Manual Therapy Specialization (PT Hybrid)
OVERVIEW
After graduating nearly 300 residents, fellows, and certified orthopedic manual therapists (COMT) we have realized we are only scratching the surface of advancing the practice of orthopedics and manual therapy in our profession. We have still only reached a small percentage of PTs who are interested in advancing their education. Still, the biggest deterrents continue to be lack of local programs and time & money. Graduates of our programs are top-tier clinicians whom are confident, efficient, and effective. OPTIM designed this program to fit the needs of students who may not have the time or resources to enter a residency or COMT program.
OPTIM's Advanced Orthopedic and Manual Therapy Specialization (AOMTS) program is designed for the individual seeking to become an expert clinician on a more flexible schedule. In our program, we provide a residency-type learning environment with the flexibility for a wide variety of clinicians. Participants will complete quizzes, assignments, readings, lectures, and weekend labs in a self-paced hybrid format. You will receive a residency level education through online lectures and participate in 2 weekend in-person classes with heavy emphasis on lab time with instructor feedback. At the end of the program, you will be qualified to sit for the AOMTS examination as well as test into the fellowship program if you choose.
This flexible, part-time program is designed for individuals seeking to become clinical experts. You will receive over 30 hours of continuing education through our in-house and online CCU subscription. The goal of the program is to give you a flexible, residency level education with over 100 hours of lecture, lab, and mentorship. Our participants include new graduates seeking to advance their confidence and education in orthopedic and manual therapy, neurologic therapists looking to incorporate more manual therapy and exercise, and seasoned clinicians looking to brush up their orthopedic and manual therapy skills.
