PTA- ORTHOPEDIC Manual Therapy Specialization (OMTS)
Overview
Our why:
OPTIM's Orthopedic Manual Therapy Specialization (OMTS) designed for the individual seeking to advance their clinical skills and orthopedic knowledge. The physical therapy profession has rapidly evolved into an autonomous, evidence guided, and specialized practice. Due to the breadth of knowledge and rapid timeframe, the PTA curriculum does not allow for an in-depth study and advanced proficiency in orthopedics. After meeting with many students and professors and hearing about the need for advanced orthopedic education, OPTIM has created a program that will fill the knowledge gap in treating patients with orthopedic conditions.
Our what:
During the six month program we will foster your growth through in-person lecture, hands-on lab, quizzes, and assigned readings. Classes are pay as you go and spaced out to occur 6-8 weeks apart. You will also receive over 20 hours of continuing education through our in-house and online CCU subscription through Medbridge. Content covered during lecture and lab time will include various manual therapy techniques for the spine and extremities, exercise prescription, and current pain science concepts. Seasoned clinicians and new grad PTAs alike will benefit from exposure to these current concepts to streamline treatment from PT to PTA, and improve patient experience and outcomes. Our programs take pride in offering an efficient, non-guru, evidence based, Monday morning applicable approach to Orthopedics. This program is not about teaching you new cool treatment techniques, but rather providing the clinical knowledge and know how to advance your orthopedic practice.
