OPTIM Manual Therapy Fellowship Program
Our fellowship program is designed for physical therapists who want to be leaders in the areas of orthopedic manual physical therapy, clinical reasoning, and integration of evidence into practice. We are fully aware that manual therapy is often only a small piece of a very complex pain and patient management puzzle. We do not subscribe to any one particular manual therapy approach or cult, but are solely focused on clinical decision making and approaches that make sense. The 15 month part-time curriculum includes 10 weekend courses that are heavily focused on hands-on training and practical, thoughtful application. The curriculum also includes clinical mentorship, case studies, journal article reviews, didactic and technique exams, and a capstone presentation. Upon completion you will be credentialed as a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists.
-Each class costs $450.00 due each weekend course.
-Clinical mentorship hours $6000.00 (broken into two payments, upon initiation and after 1/2 are completed.
All coursework and hours must be completed within 3 years.
*Clinical Hours shall include 40 non-patient contact professional development hours, 270 patient contact hours, and 130 directly supervised patient contact hours. All patient contact hours must be completed under the supervision of an OPTIM-approved fellow.
